Fred Christian Fred Christian

Director of Engineering, Broadband Division

Fred attended DeVry Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology (BSEET). Since that time, Fred has gained over 18 years experience in the Broadband Communications Industry, all with Gibson Technical Services.

He began his career in 1995 as an Optical Fiber Technician where he quickly mastered the art of fusing ultra pure glass.† He then learned the distribution and loss properties of coaxial cable as a System Sweep Technician.† Soon after that, he began testing and proofing nodes, eols and headends to the specifications of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

After gaining a thorough working knowledge of CATV standards and practices, Fred was promoted to the next level as Project Manager where he managed various retrofit, fiber and sweep projects throughout the United States. Over time the projects became more complex, multi-faceted and technically demanding. Each time, Fred met those challenges with self determination and a high level of commitment.

After successfully directing and coordinating multiple complex engineering and construction projects, Fred was elevated to Director of Engineering for the Broadband Division of GTS.

As director, Fred is tasked with utilizing his industry relationships to procure new business and resources to grow and expand the broadband division.

In his spare time, Fred enjoys the simplicity of the home life, and golfing.

Ed Hickman Ed Hickman

Ed has over 28 years of telecommunications experience.† A Georgia native, Ed began his career by working for a top 5 cable TV MSO, Jones Intercable in Augusta, GA.† While working his way up through the service and maintenance ranks with Jones, Ed earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Augusta State University in 1992.† After 10 years with Jones, Ed ventured out and started his own contracting firm in 1996.†
With the unique opportunity of a large cable upgrade in Atlanta, Edís company expanded to over 25 employees.† During this time, Ed honed in on the business side of running a company, while overseeing coax and fiber splicing projects, as well as sweep and proofing jobs.† This work led him to contract opportunities with GTS.††
After a couple of years as a subcontractor on GTS projects, a mutual respect grew between Ed and GTS.† After some beneficial conversations, and with the attraction of an appealing work place, Ed joined GTS in 2002.† Early on Ed used his vast cable knowledge to perform many of the more rare tasks for GTS.† Eventually, with both business mentality and construction skills as his core, GTS named Ed as a Project Manager in 2004.† Due to the success of the project, Ed was assigned most of GTSí larger construction projects throughout the next several years.† This included many large upgrades, fiber builds, and stimulus development projects.†

After several years of senior project management, Ed rose to Regional Manager, and was then named Director of Construction at the start of 2012. †With integrity and hard work ethics, Ed presents GTSí construction division as fair and dependable. †Edís goal is to keep GTS in the forefront of the communications industry that stands out from the competition.

Blake ChapmanBlake Chapman

Director of Wireless Engineering, DAS Division

Blake attended Berry College in Rome, Georgia and earned a Bachelor of Science degree. Blake's career in telecommunications started while working for a small Georgia-based company as a Project Coordinator managing many diverse projects, including cellular tower builds, microwave network planning, central office construction, circuit path design, and distributed antenna system installation.

Blake joined the GTS team in 2012 as a Project Manager in the DAS division, and spearheaded the iBwave design initiative in conjunction with being a DAS installation Project Manager. Blake deigned DAS networks in iBwave and then executed the implementation of the project firsthand. Equipment included Commscope, MobileAccess, TE, and multiple BDA manufacturers.

In 2013 Blake managed GTS's first turnkey installation including iBwave design, BTS construction/integration, and DAS construction/ commissioning.

As GTS's DAS division expanded Blake became a major player in the implementation of large-scale DAS networks in hospitals and stadiums for the major wireless carriers. In 2014 Blake was named Senior Operations Manager for the DAS Division and managed all DAS Project Managers, organizing all facets of GTS DAS project implementation.

In 2015 Blake was named Director of Wireless Engineering over the DAS Division. The GTS DAS Division currently consists of a dedicated RF Engineering Department, Project Management Team, Technicians/ Installers, and full Warehouse/Logistics Team.

Steven StricklandSteven Strickland

Director of Business Development

Steven leads business development for all divisions of GTS.† In this role, Steven is responsible for strategic account growth, new client acquisition, go-to-market offer strategy, marketing events, proposal management and partner programs.† Prior to GTS, Steven worked for NCR Corporation where he had global responsibility for solution management and marketing of WiFi, Small Cell and IoT offers with an emphasis on the delivery of design engineering, field services and remote monitoring for multi-vendor OEM products .† Prior to that Steven spent several years in strategic customer-facing roles as VP Sales at Essentia and selling advanced analytics software at NICE Systems.† Steven began his telecommunications career at AT&T, where he worked for over 10 years in progressing management-level roles across global enterprise solutions, business field services, structured-cabling sales, OSP engineering and network operations.

Steven holds an undergraduate in business from Oglethorpe University, masterís degree in management from Georgia Tech and law degree from University of Georgia.† He routinely participates in professional and volunteer organizations, and is certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) through PMI and Registered Telecommunications Project Manager (RTPM) through BICSI.† Steven enjoys staying active with his local community, coaching his childrenís sports teams, trail running and taking in college football Saturdays.
